I’ll been writing haiku daily almost for almost 5 months, so I have a lot. Haiku is easy for me.
I’m to speak at a Colorado River meeting next week in Denver. They’re doing a recognition of Pat.
I’m working on this poem. Any comments are welcome.
Evaporative Loss
You always said you stood on the shoulders of giants– those old water buffalo who showed you the way, Then you came to be a giant yourself looking down at that high mountain snowpack, drifts waiting to nurture us all. Your gift was to gather that melt turning rivulets into trickles, trickles into streams, those streams into rivers and so on until the vast sea lay before. You gift was vision to bring it all together, all of us together.

You said, “Think outside the watershed.”

Very nice tribute, Sharon. Pat will be proud. He was so driven to make a difference in the big leagues, always keeping me apprised.
I like ‘creeks’ better than ‘trickles’.
We’re well, enjoying the well-timed rains and good feed.
