Yesterday morning, to my surprise, the twin fawns were still asleep under the oaks and wild persimmons at 9:00 a.m. The doe was about 2o feet away, browsing on everything green she could reach, and now she’s adding acorns to her diet. It’s been such a treat to see them most days this summer. They rise when I pass by, but seem otherwise unconcerned.
