Into thirsty flesh,
we inhale the smell of rain
upon dry grasses.

Thanks, Tina. Up the canyon at the neighbor’s for dinner and all we had was Robbin’s iPhone. Not much rain, but we are revitalized as we begin another season. Perhaps more tonight.
Gorgeous photo! Rain here farther north last night and this morning; hope it’s made its way up to you.
Only enough (0.02″) for a rainbow and the smell of it, petrichor (see below).
Petrichor, one of my favorite experiences!
Thank you, Ellen, for giving me a name for one of my favorite experiences as well. I’ll make sure to share it with the neighbors: a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.
