Hens of summer
from under cover
grazing irrigated green—

man,
bird,
and beast

making ample livings
at first light—
no need for greed.

    • …and limited as to how you address the issue, I imagine. Lions, coyotes, raccoons, etc., the wild has moved to town. Rafter? Is that what you call a bunch of turkeys?

      • Yep, it’s a rafter. Two years in a row I have had skunk families under the studio in back; last night baby possums…..have seen a deer on the sidewalk, always racoons, waiting to see a coyote….
