If we measured life
in moons misused and wasted,
how many left full?
And as the moon rises he sits by his fire
Thinking about women and glasses of beer
And closing his eyes as the dogies retire
He sings out a song which is soft but it’s clear
As if maybe someone could hear…
– James Taylor (“Sweet Baby James”)

I really enjoy your photos, but I need to also reflect that I enjoy your writing as much as I do the images in your posts. I shudder to think how many full moons I have wasted in my time here on earth.

Me, too. How many out of my 871 full moons did I miss altogether for one poor reason or another?

How many full moons missed? Some when I was too lazy to get out of bed to see, some when the clouds of nonsense covered my senses, some when little things distracted me and some when big things seemed to make the full moon pale. But maybe, just maybe there are enough left for me to make amends and see them all, full moons, waxing and waning, new and old.
