Gabe Arroyo would make his roundslike a jovial Santa at Christmaswith a pickup load of honey and Patronon the ranches where he kept his hivesfor the winter—have an early morning toastto the New Year: 1 generous shot of Tequilla 2 shots of fresh-squeezed orange juice in a glass of pomegranate nectarleftover from Robbin’s jelly. He’d get a jar and we’d have another round or so his son-in-law could drive him home.Gabe’s gone, but we make merrywith his holiday spiritas if he were still here.
John, Merry Christmas, and all the best in the new year to you and Robbin.
Thanks for another year of great reads!

Thanks man, you know how it goes. Just bunping along.
When I was a young man Ben Avery would drive from farm to farm around King Ferry with a bottle of Whiskey and guarts of Egg Nog and celebrate the week between Christmas and New Year. Somehow he always made it home
