All the places
I worked and played
too hard
are wearing on me
for this moment
I have trailed
with discarded rhymes
and poetry
even I don’t quite
understand
why I had to kiss
the wild so deeply,
why I had to walk
the fence
and dream beyond
the barbed wire.

love your lucky charm. and hope you have deep success. i suppose you know i love this one and a few of the lines will echo as i go through my day, planting trays of vegetable seeds and pruning trees. love to you two. or three, i should say. frog have a name?

October 11, 2023. No name. Little bugger just hopped on my spoulder
unannounced to make the moment photoworthy.

This is wonderful. I especially like “kissing the wild”.

I like those last lines: “dream beyond the barbed wire.” Very nice.

Thanks, Leonard. I haven’t been too attentive to the blog lately. Everything I write sounds trite and a general lack of inspiration leaves me disappointed. C’est la vie!
