    Thanks, John – those were EJ’s favorites. He called them “Wine Cups”.

      This isn’t a Wine Cup or Farewell to Spring, Sophie, but a fading Purple Globelily or Purple Fairy Lantern, Calochortus amoenus. I’ve always called them Satin Bells 🙂 I’ve added a full bloom photo to the post.
