We’ve been meaning to check our first-calf heifers across the creek from the house for weeks, their first calves due by the middle of August. We hadn’t seen the cows on Top since we weaned their calves, nor the second-calf heifers in the Lower Field for three weeks or more, due September 1st, while we’ve been concentrating on taking care of our calves on the irrigated pasture. Robbin packed some snacks while I arranged for a brand inspector and vet for a health certificate for the steers that ship to the JBS Kunar Feedlot in Kersey, Colorado Monday morning. We had our little Canon SD 890 IS Digital Elph with us, but didn’t start taking pictures until we got on Top. We thought we’d share a few of the 222 photographs and the four hours of fun we had, just like a couple of kids.
