BULLS

Two tons, heads still locked
after the three mile drive
of cows and calves was done,

swirling bellows and dust
left behind to settle possession
of what was gone –

flat constant contact,
pole to nose, black silhouettes
standing exhausted alone.

It took a week
before they could see –
blind testosterone.

  2. Not yet, Heather, waiting on a little stronger market to find a home for our steer calves as we background a 45-day wean and a last round of vaccinations. Probably be the last week in July, 2 loads of 750# (net) steers when we ship (advertisement). Working early and late to beat the heat, inside most mid-days.
