Yes, we flew through a pretty thick blanket over Fresno several years ago hoping that the fog had lifted enough for the pilot to find the runway, otherwise back to SFO. UGH!

My first encounter with the Tule was driving up 99 to my 1st duty station at NAS Alameda, Nov 1967. Got so cold had to put cardboard in front of the radiator to keep the car running.
Tule fog: I remember it well from my years living in Turlock . . .

Flying over it is amazing! Just a challenge for the pilot to know exactly where the airport is . . . Been there too . . .
