OLD DAYS

She could have stayed
longer, spent the night
pelting the roof,
roaring like a river

over boulders, flashing
foothill silhouettes
to cracks of thunder
like in the old days.

    Super shot. We’re getting pelted this morning and, according to the forecast, will be pelted all day. Thunder, lightning, rain, but hopefully no hail or tornadoes, both possibilites.

    Indeed. It is over so fast these days here in our region, much anticipated, then gone, and we’re told it won’t make a difference anyway.

    We may find out just how little we can survive on. Sharing the family bath water on Saturday nights? A take home canteen for the water from the restaurant?
